Certificate Confirms Superfast Wi-Fi for HTC M8 / One 2
Call it the HTC One 2, the HTC M8 or whatever takes your fancy, but in any and all cases HTC’s next flagship is shaping up to be a beaut. Not that we’ve heard so much as a single word from the Taiwanese company on the subject to date, but it nonetheless keeps poking its nose out of the bag to give us a good idea of what’s to come.
This week’s example is a freshly-spotted document detailing the Wi-Fi certification for the One’s successor, which suggests that the device will support 5GHz and 2.4GHz bands and be able to automatically switch between the two.
So that’s super-fast Wi-Fi added to the mix, which is already quite the sight to behold. Leaks and rumors to hint at high-end hardware across the board, including a 2.26GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 5-inch1080p HD touchscreen, a Qualcomm Adreno 330 GPU and an 8-Ultrapixel primary camera to the rear.
In terms of launch expectations, a recent court ruling passed in the UK suggested that the follow-up to the HTC One would debut toward the beginning of Q2, perhaps after an unveiling at or around the time of MWC 2014 which starts late February.
